In addition, the church staff spent an hour today praying for God's movement this weekend and next.  Pledges have already begin to come in and we have been encouraged by the sacrificial commitment of so many of you. 

It's hard to believe commitment weekend is this Saturday and Sunday, but it is!  We are so excited to see what God is going to do in the hearts of everybody who attends.  It will be a service worth remembering.  It will be a defining moment for us as a church.  And so, as a way of preparing for the weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to post our Ripple Effect Prayer.  Hopefully, this will be a reminder to all of us that we have been created to be ripple-makers for God.  See you this weekend!

Dear God,
Thank you for your plan to take every messed up thing
and make it right again.
Make me uncomfortable with the way things are.
Help me see what is possible with you.
Give me the courage to risk sacrificially.
I want to be a part of a ripple that begins here and changes the world.

Hopefully you have picked up a journey guide and have been discussing what God is calling you and your family to do through The Ripple Effect.  If you haven't picked up one, you can do so at The Ripple Effect display in the lobby of each campus.

Thanks for continuing this journey with us!  I pray God continues to speak to you as you seek Him in this time.

]]>http://www.therippleeffect.cc/the-ripple-effect-week-1Preview Eventhttp://www.therippleeffect.cc/preview-eventMon, 01 Mar 2010 23:06:30 GMTRyan LuncefordDuring the months of November and December, the leadership at Crossroads began praying about where God was leading us next.  After much deliberation and prayerful consideration a campaign called The Ripple Effect was born.  As a way of getting the ball rolling with things a preview event was held at both campuses the first week in February.  The purpose of the events: give our core leaders a preview of what The Ripple Effect is all about and why we are doing it. If you missed the preview event you can listen to it online.  I recommend you do to get a history of where we have been and a context for where we are headed.

As March draws near, there will be more communication about The Ripple Effect.  The weekends from February 27/28-March 27/28 compile our Ripple Effect series with March 27/28 being commitment weekend.  During those weeks we will be asking everybody who comes to Crossroads to pick up and utilize what is called a "Journey Guide."  This booklet will assist you and your family go on a spiritual journey through The Ripple Effect.  It is filled with information about The Ripple Effect, a place for you to take message notes, pages to S.O.A.P. (daily bible readings and journalling), and a planning guide to help you as you pray and consider how God wants to use you through The Ripple Effect.  These will be handed out and distributed the first weekend of the series and at The Ripple Effect display thereafter.

In addition, our children's ministry and students ministry will be spotlighted on two of the weekends during March.  They will be participating in the campaign and will be presenting what will be happening in their areas along with a few other surprises.

Our greatest desire is that our entire church will participate with The Ripple Effect.  So, let me ask you: will you be a ripple-maker?
